ASPAC R&D Packaging Manager Job Description

1.IDENTIFICATION DE LA FONCTION
TITLE
ASPAC R&D Packaging Manager
Report to R&D Director

2.MISSION :
Ensure Packaging development for China, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and Japan
Position will be based in Shanghai
To lead development of packaging from marketing brief to industrial production in plant
( help for design, selection of packaging material, work with Industrial to define packaging equipment, work with supplier who provide packaging material or final packaging).
To participate in the Supplier Quality Assurance Program to ensure Food Safety for all Packaging material
To help Industrial to achieve Quality and productivity targets
Objective :
Develop packaging for Company while respecting Food Safety, and Company quality standards, consumer satisfaction with best quality at optimum cost

3.Activities
1Lead development if new packaging from Marketing brief until production and delivery to consumer.
Lead or participate in all cost optimization or environment projects
Activities :
Supplier agreement with Supply Chain
Validate packaging solution for Quality, environment impact and cost
Validate packaging through Industrial test from plant to final destination (consumer)
Establish Food Dossier file for all new packaging
Validate all packaging modification or all supplier change
Validate that our packaging supplier can ensure conformity for Food Safety and Quality
Ensure that each plant has regular Packaging evaluation follow up
Communicate within company Monthly packaging quality results (both raw material and finish products

4. Performance criteria
Strict application of Company procedure regarding Food Safety and Quality
Validation of Food Safety prior to launch new packaging
Respect of timing, cost and quality for launch of new packaging
Reach Quality objective for all suppliers providing raw material for packaging
Implementation of packaging raw material quality report and follow up on Product packaging quality
Contribute to Industrial productivity by working closely with Industrial on cost optimization for packaging

5 Responsibility/decision
Define raw material and packaging specification
Define approved supplier and approved packaging raw material
Help Industrial to define quality objective
Define with supplier quality improvement program for raw material
Participate in selection of suppliers and raw material (with Purchasing department and quality department)

8. Required Education / Experience
A.Education:
Engineering school (packaging or Engineering)
Experience in Quality System, plastic and chemistry is a plus

B . EXPERIENCE
5 years of experience in packaging (Food packaging a plus)

D. Knowledge necessary
- English is mandatory
